Goddamn. Alastair hadn’t expected this. His body hummed. He couldn’t stop kissing Reed. Words gathered in his throat. He swallowed them. Reed had to lead. Otherwise, Alastair would always wonder if he manipulated Reed or took advantage.

Reed stroked his back and sides. The mess between them went ignored. Suddenly, Reed laughed against Alastair’s lips. He pulled away to stare at the beautiful sight beneath him. Reed’s eyes swam with laughter. He covered his face with both hands and laughed harder.

Alastair couldn’t stop smiling. “What’s this all about?”

Reed dropped his hands, but still wore a huge grin. “I can’t believe I did that. How mortifying. I just jumped on you like you were fine with that.”

“I was.” He rolled to the side but kept one leg over Reed. Alastair propped himself up on one elbow and stared at Reed. “I still am, so you know… if you ever want to jump on me again.”

Reed laughed. He grabbed his side. “Stop.”

“I’m serious.”

Reed held Alastair’s stare. His laughter died, but his eyes still shone bright with happiness. “Brace yourself. It absolutely will happen again.” Reed’s gaze moved over Alastair’s face. Alastair didn’t know what he hoped to see. Reed turned serious. “Thank you for not pushing me away. I don’t expect anything from you.”

Alastair’s heart dropped. “What do you mean?”

Reed shrugged. “Like I know you don’t want this. Not really. I don’t expect promises.”

Alastair moved before he realized he would. His body covered Reed. “Are you insane or just blind? You’re all I want.” He realized he hadn’t been as open as he should have been. Alastair had left Reed to make assumptions. “I want this. I want you. Us. However you need me to say things. It’s been hell without you, but I need you to be happy more than me. If I know you’re good, I can live with anything.”

A sweet smile touched Reed’s lips. His arms wound around Alastair’s neck. Too late, Alastair realized he was settled between Reed’s thighs. Reed looked entirely too fuckable beneath him. Time seemed to freeze. Alastair couldn’t look away and his heart tried bursting from his chest. The levy inside him gave way, allowing all his emotions to flow freely.

“I love you.”

He heard Reed take a shaky breath. He swore Reed didn’t blink after Alastair’s confession. Reed stared at Alastair with an intensity Alastair never expected. “I love you too.”

The moment solidified something between them. Alastair slowly lowered his head. Their lips brushed. A heart-stealing kiss lingered between them before turning heated. Alastair couldn’t stop drawing Reed’s knees higher. Each time his hard dick bumped Reed’s crack, he backed away. Then it would happen again. Reed made him too hot for his sanity.

Reed tore his mouth away. His breathing sounded like a fight for life. “Stop teasing and fuck me already.”

A laugh gathered in the back of his throat. Alastair didn’t dare let it slip past his lips. He dove for his wallet while Reed made a dive for the nightstand. They came together in an explosion of lubing and rolling a condom down Alastair’s length.
